Together for a cleaner world

Cambodia is facing enormous environmental challenges. Plastic waste is just one of them. Chikara Cambodia is addressing these challenges through education, awareness raising and strengthening local communities. We do this by supporting disadvantaged young people to study, giving environmental workshops at schools, and by encouraging children to collect plastic waste for recycling. We also share innovative environmental solutions in the Chikara Innovation Centre.

Support a student with a grant

Many young people living in disadvantaged circumstances in Cambodia do not have the money to study or take vocational training. You can help them by donating to our study fund. We use this money to fund the education of disadvantaged young people and to support them in their learning. In return, the young people contribute to our environmental projects and participate in innovative challenges at the Chikara Innovation Centre. You can make a one time donation or support their studies.

Soap in return for plastic waste Donate to our environmental projects

Donate to our environmental projects

Our ‘Soap in return for plastic waste’ project – and all the sub-projects that fall under it – has raised awareness among thousands of children and their communities on the importance of a cleaner environment. They also collect hundreds of rice sacks containing plastic waste that we recycle and turn into learning materials. We want to visit many more schools and recycle even more plastic. You can help us do this with a one-time or regular donation. Any amount is welcome.

Donate to the Chikara Innovation Centre

We opened the doors of the ‘Chikara Innovation Centre for a cleaner world’ in Siem Reap in 2024. We welcome residents of the surrounding communities to this sustainable building to share knowledge about innovative environmental solutions. We demonstrate how easy it is to do and work out new ideas with them. Your donation will help us ensure the Centre flourishes. Will you help?

What else can you do?

Chikara Cambodia can always use the help of volunteers in the Netherlands and in Cambodia. This could be in our communications or fundraising for example. Or in coaching or training our students, developing innovative environmental solutions to strengthen the local communities and so on.

We also strive to work with other organisations that work in the fields of the environment, education or development in Cambodia. We can achieve more by sharing our strengths. If you see opportunities, please contact us.
